Thank you

I just wanted to send out a short newsletter this week to acknowledge and thank everyone for the hard work they're doing. Whether you are out working, caring for your family, or working from home, every little thing counts to keep us safe at the moment and I thank you for playing your part.

School Council

School Council had their third virtual meeting this week. With a significantly smaller agenda to normal, we were still able to celebrate; the communities attitude and efforts with the return to remote learning, creation or a new Improvement plan for our OSHC and begin the work on some new grant ideas we have in the work. A huge thanks to those who attend school council as well as those of you who help out behind the scenes.

Reach Out

We know it's tough out there. Noone is enjoying this second round of isolation. Know that we are here to support to how we can. We may not be able to solve all of the problems but we may be able to give you some tips to simplify things.

Readathon

Some of our amazing students have chosen to sign up for the MS Readathon and have already raised a whopping $232!! If you're looking for a way to get your child more engaged in reading or simply want to support a really amazing cause, please join us! Let's see what we can achieve together during these times.

Home Learning

You're not alone

 Each child is unique. Each parent has different availability and patience. Each home is different.

Don't put pressure onto yourself for what home learning 'should' look like and how the neighbour down the road is loving and acing every aspect of it. You are NOT alone and there are others that feel tha same.

Check out some of the tips below to make homelearning work for you and your family and don't be afriad to share them on our School Facebook page. Some of the best tips I've heard this week are;

  • Set your child up on Facetime to work alongside their friends
  • Get your child to put their school uniform during work times
  • Tick off activities in the learning grid as you go. Little achievements still feel good.
  • Turn off notifications on iPads so they don't get distratced during the school day.

Children will be able to access this treatment service where they have a referral from a General Practitioner (GP). The referral completed by the GP is known as a mental health treatment plan.

Our fantastic psychologist, Lili, is now attending school each Thursday. An initial appointment can be scheduled by contacting Hayley or Michelle.
