TOKSAVE - Lihir International School

Welcome back to LIS for Term 2! It is a very different start to the term with LIS students eagerly embracing remote learning at home. Thank you to those at home assisting our students. We now have almost every student from year 3 to year 9 logged into the Google Classroom platform. This has enabled teachers to meet with class groups and individual students to support learning at home. Teachers from kindy to year 2 are supporting students using WhatsApp groups and Skype. Thanks to the LIS teachers for all their hard work in ensuring the excellent education standards at LIS continue during the lockdown period.

There will be a whole school assembly tomorrow in the LIS Assembly Classroom at 9am. Please click on the Meet link to join. Don't forget to invite any younger brothers and sisters from kindy to year 2 to join in as well. It would be appreciated if you could mute microphones during the Assembly.

It has been wonderful to see the excitement on students' faces as they say hello to each other in the Google Classroom after the extended holiday break. We will never take being at school for granted again!

I would like to take the opportunity to remind parents that there is flexibility in the programs that have been provided by the teachers and you are welcome to include other learning and cultural activities that you would like to share with your child during this time. If you or your child are unsure of an activity, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher. Remember also, Reading Eggs and Mathletics are beneficial online learning programs for your child to engage in.

All parents are encouraged to download the Skoolbag App onto their smartphones. This will enable you to receive the Toksave and other school documents and information. Instructions on how to download the app are at the bottom of this Toksave.
