Be Safe - Be Responsible - Be Respectful - Be Your Best

Wednesday 15 June, 2022 - Term 2 - Week 8 - Issue 18

Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you had a lovely long weekend and found somewhere out of the wind to enjoy the glorious sunshine.

Leisure Sports

A reminder that our Leisure Sports program will resume this Friday for students in Years 3-6, assuming the weather is kind to us. Students do not need to return a new note as this week and next week’s sessions were covered in the original note. We look forward to being out and about!

Public Speaking

Our students have all done an exceptional job presenting a speech to their class over recent weeks. There was an extremely wide range of topics and each speech was well presented and informative.

The grand final for our public speaking will be held next Wednesday, 22 June, commencing at 12.30pm. Parents of students who are progressing to the grand final will be notified via Class Dojo this Friday and parents of these students are welcome to attend the grand final next Wednesday.

Staff and Student Absences

Unfortunately, Covid and other illnesses are continuing to make their presence felt at school resulting in a high number of absences for both students and staff.

Despite a higher than usual number of teacher absences, our students are demonstrating outstanding behaviour as well as showing great resilience in ‘powering on’ when their regular teacher is absent. Well done!

A reminder that if your child is symptomatic, please continue to test and keep them at home until they are symptom free. Please also ensure that you provide an explanation for their absence as soon as possible so it can be recorded correctly. Finally, if your child tests positive to Covid, please ensure the school is notified, along with NSW Health. Please click on the link below to the latest guidelines for your perusal.

Our amazing P&C are meeting next Tuesday, 21 June at 6pm in the library. New members are always welcome, so please feel free to come along and join the discussions on how to make our school even better than it already is!

Have a great week,

JAKE

Hello! My name is Jake and I am five years old. I have a big brother at this school, his name is Bayden.

At school, I like playing at the play dough table and using the iPads.

At home, I like playing monster trucks with my brother, we like to make bases with the couch.

When I grow up, I would like to be a real soccer player.

LEISURE SPORT

With our fingers (and toes) crossed for good weather, Years 3-6 are looking forward to attending their catch up Leisure Sports excursions this Friday, 17 June and next Friday 24 June. Students will be starting their second sport rotation and are reminded that all students must have returned their notes in order to attend.

CRAZY CAMEL ORDERS

All Crazy Camel orders have arrived at the school and will be distributed to students tomorrow, Thursday 16 June. If you would like to pick your order up rather than it being sent home with your child, please notify the school tomorrow.  If your child/ren do not receive their order, please let me know or advise the office staff.

A big thank you to all parents and carers that purchased Crazy Camel products and supported our Year 6 fundraising efforts. We managed to raise over $1100.

Wonder Recycling Rewards Competition

Our school is participating in the Wonder Recycling Rewards Competition. If possible, please save your bread bags and send them to school. Classes are collecting bread bags so that we can earn lots of points. The more bread bags we have, the more points we get! The more points we get, the more sports equipment we can buy! It is also a great way to reduce landfill, recycle and help the environment.
