Dear Parents & Carers
Welcome to Term 2, we hope our families enjoyed the break and had a wonderful Easter.
It was lovely to finish off Term 1 with parents/visitors onsite to witness the Stations of the Cross, hopefully we can continue to invite our school community to events throughout the year.
COVID Requirements: With recent changes announced by the Government in relation to COVID isolation rules etc we have provided a letter to all families which outlines the current information in relation to this. If you have any queries after reading this information please give the office a call. A further supply of Rapid Antigen Tests will be sent home to families tomorrow.
Mothers Day Breakfast: Friday 6 May: We are pleased to announce that we are able to run our Mothers Day Breakfast this year, please keep an eye out on Operoo for the invitation over the coming days, a response will be required by Monday 1 May to allow for catering. Please note there is no vaccination requirement to attend this event.
Nude Food Tuesdays: St John's is creating a greater awareness of sustainability in our school community by introducing 'Nude Food Tuesdays’ for the remainder of the year and by providing paper and cardboard recycling boxes in classrooms.
All students, from Foundation to Grade 6, will be learning more about sustainability during STEM classes throughout Term 2.
Our Nude Food Tuesdays aim to encourage families to provide a rubbish free lunch for students at school.
'Nude Food' is food that comes to school without disposable packaging – extra plastic bags, paper bags, wrappings, cling wraps, tetra packs or disposable plastic tubs.
SchoolsTV: Our school is now licensed to have access to SchoolTV, a new online resource that provides credible and sound information with realistic, practical ongoing support strategies for parents in their endeavour to raise happy, healthy and resilient young people.
Topics are handled sensitively to suit primary aged children and to support families in many different areas of Wellbeing such as; anxiety, cyberbullying, school transitioning, bullying, resilience and blended families, to name a few. A range of well known authors and psychologists, such as Dr Michael Carr-Gregg, have shared their thoughts on some of the topics too.
Links to specifically relevant articles, videos and information, will regularly appear in our school newsletter.

Winter Uniform Term 2: All students are to wear winter uniform during terms 3 & 4, hats are no longer required on the yard. A reminder also that full school uniform is to be worn at all times - please see Uniform Guidelines in the Parent Info section of the Skoolbag App if you are unsure.
OSHC: We are still in the process of finalising OSHC arrangements with our new provider and will inform families as we are able.
Regards
