Eleebana Extra

Monday 22 July 2019 Week 1 Term 3

From the Principal

Welcome back to an exciting and busy Term Three here at Eleebana Public School.

Some staffing news to begin the term, our long term School Administrative Manger Ms Cherryl Weir and our Learning and Support Teacher Ms Marilyn Dawson have both taken retirement. I am sure you all join with me in wishing them all the best as they enjoy this next phase of their lives.

Dr Carl Leonard is on leave for the next few months as he takes up an opportunity at the University of Newcastle. An Expression of Interest for the relieving Deputy Principal position is currently in process.

Finally our top oval is almost complete, it looks great and we can't wait to get up there. Again huge thanks to all those in our community whose contributions and support have made this possible.

Canberra Visit - Australian Government Assistance

Students from our school will soon undertake an educational tour of the national capital. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $20 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

School Banking Help Needed

Our lovely school banking volunteer, Michelle B has decided to retire. Michelle, we thank you for all your help with school banking over the years.
