A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke

The tax collectors and the sinners were all seeking the company of Jesus to hear what he had to say, and the Pharisees and the scribes complained. ‘This man’ they said ‘welcomes sinners and eats with them.’ So he spoke this parable to them:

‘What man among you with a hundred sheep, losing one, would not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the missing one till he found it? And when he found it, would he not joyfully take it on his shoulders and then, when he got home, call together his friends and neighbours? “Rejoice with me,” he would say “I have found my sheep that was lost.” In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one repentant sinner than over ninety-nine virtuous men who have no need of repentance.

‘Or again, what woman with ten drachmas would not, if she lost one, light a lamp and sweep out the house and search thoroughly till she found it? And then, when she had found it, call together her friends and neighbours? “Rejoice with me,” she would say “I have found the drachma I lost.” In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing among the angels of God over one repentant sinner.’

Staff Development Days

Dear Parents,

The Catholic Education Office Diocese of Parramatta has decided to provide all schools in Parramatta Diocese with two additional Staff Development Days in 2022.

Providing these extra staff development days is recognition of the outstanding work of schools in responding to recent periods of COVID-19 and influenza illness, and the accompanying teacher shortage. The days are for staff to do their own professional planning.

The first day is the last day of Term 3 (Friday 23 September) and Friday Week 4 of Term 4 (Friday 4 November).

Monday 10th October, Day 1 of Term 4 remains as a staff Development for Professional Learning.

Voice of Youth School Final

On Monday 5th September the Year 6 students travelled to St Paul's Catholic College to support Dante Wesser compete in the Eastern Division Semi-Final of the Voice of Youth competition. Dante was outstanding on the day and has progressed to the Grand-Final which will be held on Tuesday September 20th at St John XXIII Catholic College. We wish Dante all the best.

Lunchtimes in the Library

If you feel like a change from the playground and might prefer something quieter some lunchtimes, come on into the library where you can play chess, build with Lego, play UNO with friends, read for enjoyment or simply write or draw just for fun.

If this interests you, then after the play bell goes at lunchtime, line up on the verandah outside the library each Tuesday and Thursday.
