A warm welcome to all the new families joining our school community this year, we know you’re going to love our school!

· To provide social and community support to all at WPS
· To develop sustainable and safe approaches to all our events and activities
There are lots of things happening in 2020, and many ways we communicate with you. Here are some of them:
P&C Meetings
We have one meeting per term to discuss issues and hear relevant reports from Sub-Committees and Clubs. Please come along and meet the P&C Executive and Convenors, and hear more about what is happening at WPS. We’re friendly and approachable - we’d love to see you there!
Meeting dates this year are:
Wednesday 4 March
Wednesday 27 May
Wednesday 19 August
Wednesday 11 November (AGM)
Website
http://www.wpspandc.com.au
The WPS P&C website has information about the P&C, band, netball, chess, uniform shop, grounds etc. This is where you will find out more about the fundraising and social events that take place during the year.
Emails
The P&C sends emails to advertise social events, to update you on areas of interest to you and/or your child, and to inform parents about various issues relevant to the school community. The email address we use for this correspondence is collected via the Class Representative (see below).
Class Parent
In your child’s class there will be a nominated Class Parent who will liaise with the teacher/s and parents and, using a class contact list, send out useful information about activities specific to the class as well as information about P&C activities and events. Your contact details for this list will be collected at the parent information evening early this Term and distributed only to parents in your child’s class.
Facebook
https://www.facebook.com/WilloughbyPublicSchool
WPS P&C has a Facebook page where actvities and events that are run by the P&C are advertised, and photos are also often uploaded after an event. The P&C may also use the Facebook site to reiterate messages from the school and those of benefit to the wider school community.

We look forward to a great 2020, and hope to meet you or see you again soon.

Other News…
Kindy “Tea and Tears” Morning Tea
The P&C hosted a morning tea for Kindy parents and carers in our brand new hall on Friday 7 February. It was great to meet so many lovely kindy mums and dads. This is the first of many social occasions they are sure to experience at Willoughby – where lifelong friendships are formed (for the parents as well as the kids).
A big thank you to the Year One families who brought in some delicious treats for our new Kindy parents & carers, our P&C Executive for serving the teas and coffees, and our Kindy Ambassador, Francine Burge, Class Parent Coordinator, Amy Daly and the School Executive for answering loads of questions!
Traffic Safety Reminders
Have you seen our new traffic safety signs? They have lots of good reminders, like the maximum legal waiting time in the Kiss 'n' Ride zones is 2 MINUTES!
Our Traffic Taskforce is keen to implement some further safety measures in 2020. If you have any suggestions, please email president@wpspandc.com.au.
Blow Your Own Trumpet
We are currently accepting submissions for advertisements in our school Advertising Supplement for Term One. The Supplement is published online on the WPS P&C website and also as a paper booklet, printed in black and white, distributed to all our students (over 1000 students).
If you have a business and might be interested in being featured, please email Simrita for further details and (very reasonable!) pricing: advertising@wpspandc.com.au
The deadline for all artwork is 17 February.

Seeking New Angels!
Our Lost Property Angels are in need of 6 new helpers to join the team.
You'll only need to spare an hour or two once per term to help sort lost property and reunite it to owners.
We work in teams of two, so grab a buddy and let us know if you can help!
We can also find you a buddy if you need one.
Please send your details to Lisa: lisa_gizariotis@yahoo.com.au
Thank you!
