Principal's Report

This week we acknowledge our hard working and dedicated School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS). Each year, as a school, we thank our wonderful SASS team with a delicious morning tea and personalised gifts made by our students. Without our SASS team our school would not function, they support our teachers and students in a million different ways and are vital to the success of our students, teachers and school. Each member of our SASS family cares deeply for the students in our school and go above and beyond to ensure that our students needs are being met. I would personally like to thank Mrs Shead, Mrs Brown, Mrs Edwards, Mrs Adams, Mr Bright, Mrs Dunsire, Mrs Moran, Mrs Geerin, Mrs Woods and Mrs Rigas for their contributions to our school, we are truly blessed to have you as a part of our Kingswood Public School community. This year’s lovely gifts were made by…

Mrs Shead - S2H and S1F

Mrs Brown - S2O and S1H

Mrs Edwards - S1/S2T and S1C

Mrs Adams - S3J and ES1J

Mr Bright - S1/S2P and S3T

Mrs Dunsire - S1P and S2S

Mrs Moran - S2D and S1S

Mrs Geerin - S3H and ES1C

Mrs Woods - S3L and ES1D

Mrs Rigas - ES1P and S3F

Over the past two weeks I have been very privileged to receive some wonderful feedback about our students from external visitors to the school. Firstly, ‘ShazArt’ who ran our cartooning workshops during book week, spoke to me about how welcomed she felt at our school. She also was very impressed by the behaviour and manners of our students during the cartooning sessions. Secondly, I received the following email from the company that ran our Stage 2 Planetarium Incursion…

Hi Mrs Clarke,

Thank you for having me at your school this week.

I just wanted to say that it was a pleasure visiting your school. Your students were great. Engaged, respectful and well behaved. They asked some fantastic questions and I hope that I have inspired them to find out more about our universe.

You and your staff should be very proud of them.

Kind regards

Gary Starr

As a school leader, there is no greater honour than receiving feedback like this. As a society we are often so busy that we do not take the time to acknowledge the positive things that are happening around us.

I would also like to thank our wonderful P&C and their helpers for all their hard work in organising the Father's Day Stall so that our students had the opportunity to buy something for Dad or the significant person in their life that they would like to recognise this Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to all of our Dads.

2019 Stage 1 Spelling Bee

Get ready for the Kingswood Public School Stage 1 Spelling Bee.

The Premier’s Spelling Bee was introduced in 2004 as a fun and educational way for primary school students to engage with spelling. The program includes activities to encourage all students to engage with spelling and to promote improved literacy in combination with the English K-6 Syllabus.

The Stage 1 Spelling Bee will be held this term on Thursday, September 12 in the school hall. Two children from each class will be selected to be their representatives in the battle to find the best spellers in Stage 1.
